sorry if I have not looked enough about what I am talking about but I would like to learn how to model characters like that(I use Maya 4.5). I am fairly new to the CG world and only been working on stuff for about a year and a half. But from all that I have learn, nobody has ever showed me how to, from scratch, how to create realistic human characters, like many of you see in the gallery like these.

I have looked at many of the tutorials around these forums but they have not really seemed to help all that much. Am I looking in the wrong place? I have a lot of ideas and want to get started on them but I need to know the basics of building characters that are as good as the ones you see above. Are those out of my league for someone who is as new as me?

Could someone please help?

Thanks

Shaun

for the elf character, im sure there is a wire frame image of that somewere on the thread, what i would do to model that is use polygons, and use the proxy smooth eventually when your done modeling make into sub divisions.
