Thx deViSoR, yes my webhost seems to have some problems :annoyed:

You're right bout the age, the character is supposed to be 40-45,
but must look a little bit more as he's tired and used by his life.

Only critique is that the ears look too low on his head.

very cool, I like it a lot... the only thing: the light coming out of his nostrils.

Cooool!!!!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
i like the char very much, and still isn't finished!!!!!!

Post wires and side 3/4 view!

p.s. in male proportions, ears are on the same lines of center eyes(top) and end of nose(bottom). but sometimes, u can break these rules!

Excellent!!

and from what i can see, actually the real man had ears so low. that's why i say rules can be broken. reality has no rigid rules.

I find that your mesh is strange in the cheek area, even if it follows the exact shape of the model .check if it can cause some prob with facial expressions doing endomorph!!

Thx Nemoid,
you're right about the polygon flow, I usualy prefer not to model like this, but that was the best way to stick to the original, I made some morph test, there were no problem. In fact, the character will not talk in the short, just facial expressions...

And now, time for update, with UV map "photoshoped" by a friend with who I make the short:

http://perso.wanadoo.fr/cyroz2000/images/pedalus/wip-UV.jpg

On this comp I tried different settings of bump and color, but all the maps are not done for the moment; here are also some problems with the ears, and some stretching!

well done, mr. Cyroz!!

Hey, don't you wanna share your unwrapped UVs with us? I would really like to see them...

PS: I agree with the low ear.... also, Ears and Nose are body parts that never stop growing.... the elder the man is, bigger his ears and nose became!

great job and keep it up, man!! applause: :applause:

Wow....very impressive work, Cyroz! You really captured his likeness...bravo! :applause:

The only tiny little nitpick I have is that the corner of his eyelid(s) seem to pull away from the eyeball itself and appear too thick as a result. Actually now that I look at it some more, I think it may just be the texture that makes it appear that way...it doesn't look that way in the untextured version.

Great work :) The texture so far really brings out the character in him.

To comment on the ear thing... The only reason his ears are low in the reference is because his head is tilted back. If you rotated the image so his head was straight you would find that his ears are in fact in the right place :p

My only real crit would be the eyes seem a little too bulgy. I'd smooth/pull out the row of points around the eye opening so the outside corners don't curve in quite so much...

Thks guys for the comments.:)

Triple G:
The problem with the eyes was an UV problem, the eyes in the model are also a little bit "out", but that's needed for the short.

Kretin:
I know for the ears, but I like it that ways, as for the eyes, I need them to be "bulgy"(btw, don't know what it means :p )

Here is a little update, with some corrections to the UV, and little morph tests:

http://perso.wanadoo.fr/cyroz2000/images/pedalus/wip-UV02.jpg

I think the head is good that way, I got to get back on modelisation of the body now.
See you!

.

Nope. if u look in the front image it may seem like that, but if u look in the side image, ears appear to be actually low and his head is not so turned back in that image.

also the low ears give a character personality to the model.

i like the expressions work very much as well as the texturing

great work:thumbsup:
