i've been [for some time now] trying to use Texporter and even Chiliskinner to unwarp and paint my models. for some reason, it never works, or i get bad unwrapping. can someone please post a link to a NEW tutorial for unwrapping in 3ds max [even without a plugin] i don't care. everyone i find on Google is from early versions of Texporter and out of date.

thanks in advance.

Download this movie, it'll show you most of the new Max5 features:

It was certainly an eyeopener for me...stitch selected is goooood.

Heya, what is it that you don't get in Texporter ? It is a quite simple tool that just exports a bitmap out of your unwrapped mesh, maybe it's the unwrapping that you're having trouble with.
Found these tutorials on texporter (here (http://www.ghostrecon.net/html/texporter.htm) and here (http://www.planetquake.com/q3empire/data/tutorials/modeling/skinning/skinning.htm)), but maybe you need a good tutorial on unwrapping (http://waylon-art.com/uvw_tutorial/uvwtut_01.html) as well (this one is pretty good, imho).

- edit : there is also a help file with Texporter that explains the basic commands and use of it, you might want to check it out.

Hope this helps !

wow! thats an old f'in post. anyways, i've figured it out looooong time ago. i think my problem was the flattening of the mesh, not textporter.

anyways, i was thinking of doing a simple tutorial since i've done it so many time since then.

memories... like the corner of my mind.....

why do you not accept plugin.after all, technological factor is very important in 3d realm.
