I've been speed painting for almost a week. This took me about an hour.

Speed painting is my new guilty pleasure.

I realize there's a lot of winter scenes. I threw in a nice volcanic eruption to keep warm.

C&C are definitely welcome. Part of me thinks I need to start doing more detail with harder brushes.

Do you use reference pictures?

No reference. I'm not opposed to it, but these are just more like free paintings.

Cool pieces, I'm thinking of getting more into environment myself. The winter scenes definitely seem to be your forte, you should try to get some reference if you want to give it a more authentic feel. Research the variety of plantlife that shapes arctic locations instead of just having the same tree over and over again, it'll really help give more life to your compositions.

Keep it up though, especially if these are just your starting speed paints.
