I WANT MOOOORE

it LOOKS better than tmnt thats for damn sure, now lets see if they actually made a good movie.

seems like they did a decent job remaining faithful to the original anime designs, although some promo art i had seen recently seemed to suggest otherwise.

either way, looks fun

Even if there is some sarcasm in there. Neither the Writer or dicrector had anything to do with TMNT. (if they feel that TMNT was bad.)

Its look ok. Neither good nor bad.

The writer from Space Jam, Kindergarten Cop and my Step Mother is an Alien has me a little more worried.

On the other hand David Bowers although with one directed picture under his directorial belt has been involved in many successful animation ventures via the animation and art dept. .

For what it is,it's doing a fine job.
Which is teasing.

There is not much to judge, but the part where he's digging to bust out of the volcano was pretty cool to me.
We know these guy can animate, but lets hope they keep some of the the strong themes from the manga in the movie.

My only real exposure to Astro Boy is Naoki Urasawa's manga "Pluto" (which re-imagines one of the story arcs, and is friggin amazing), but I was shocked at how dark the series is.

Guy's kid dies, so he creates a robot clone of the kid -- a robot he abuses and sells to the circus. When the robot is picked up by a kind-hearted doctor and becomes a do-gooder, the original creator decides that the best thing for all involved is if he uses everything in his power to destroy Astro, thus making him stronger in the process.

Dark, creepy, weird stuff. Kind of like Pinocchio from hell.

I hope this movie lives up to what I've gotten from the manga.

looks okay. could be better but could be much worse.

loved the clouds, didnt like the cheap lightning effect (no depth..should use more than an "over" node...and why is the 3rd prop in the BG not doing anything? the HUD glow on it suggests its turned on), liked the tunnel digging, didnt like the really bad "snow" flakes when het gets out of the mountain (he digs through the earth and all u get is snow flakes when he pops up?...where be the rocks?)

for a non-pixar-esque type movie where the budget more than likely isnt huge and the talent isnt top top notch, i think it looks good. plus its only a teaser.

looking forward to it.

Can I compare this to the Sonic Unleashed Game Cinematic?

Mmm.. I think Sonic Game Cinematic is better especially showing speed.

I don't remember much about Astro's story after 25+ years ago, but the movement, pose and composition sure brings back some childhood memories. Good job!

Also, comparing to TMNT (a pretty good flick), the studio's improvement is clear. What's left to see is the story and character development which it's hard to grasp from just one short teaser. :D

All right, now I've got to see this movie... You're wasting your talent as a TD, you should go into marketing... :D

(No, seriously, stay a TD, but that quote was more worth to me than any trailer I could watch... :D On the other hand, that's the Japanese for you... :p)

The movie has nothing to do with the manga. Astroboy is born a robot and he's invited to fight in an underworld gladiator ring, and he then goes back to save Metrocity.

I used to watch the cartoon when I was a kid so I have high hopes for this one. Hope it doesn't disappoint. Looks promising from the bit in the teaser though!

first time ive seen this trailer ... glad you posted it cheers

growing up in papua new guinea i watched a lot of anime but this was by far the one that stuck in my mind as a kid ... in fact it is available on lovefilm (https://www.lovefilm.com/welcome/home.html)if anyone is interested ... probably much more suited to kids under 12 who would love it but i enjoyed watching it again for sure.
