The movie is originally stereoscopic. Stop motion with the character faces made with CG.

It does look good. But I feel like this movie has been in production for ten years.

Better to take forever and look beautiful then to come out on a strict two year schedule and suck, right? Laika should be proud, this looks awesome.

Just saw the trailer for this and wow! Looks great! Nice to see some variety in style and methods for our animated fare.
This looks like a juicy film.
