View Full Version : Mirror skin weights...how?

I painted half model and now I need to mirror skin weights...but I can't find a way to do it!
Sorry if this is a silly question but I'm new to C4D ( EX XSI ! )...please help!

have you tried the "mirror tool"?
(under the "Character" menu)

Yes, but I don't understand how it works... if I select only weights and than mirror nothing happen.
Maybe it works only if I mirror bones as well ? If yes, I can't do that cuz I applied some deformers ( constraints )
and when I mirror it they are all messy...
There is a way to mirror only the weights ?

Please consider reporting this to Maxon, the more people that do the more likely they are to improve it. I agree that it doesn't work at all well. Cactus Dans' version in his Joints and Skin plugin puts it to shame imo as it simply works the way you'd expect without any fuss or workarounds needed.
