Hay everyone

its been a while since I posted in the forum. I was cracking on with character rigging :D

But I'm involved in a project that requires some vehicle modeling so here's a WIP thread for it.

This is a Datsun Bluebird 1970

you got the shape down but you are not spending your polies very efficiently
The trunk for example has way way too many polygons.
You can get away with 70% less
the rims on the wheels are very detailed as well you might want to reduce that as well and spend a little more on making the tires (the biggest object) a bit more curvy

I love that you're modeling a 1970's sedan. As long as your beauty shot in the end is of it flying over a hill in SanFrancisco in a high speed chase. A note, why is your front tire higher poly than the rear?

Something I've wondered about in vehicle modeling for a while, sometimes you have to make a number of cuts along the sides for details like wheel wells or air scoops which lead to more cuts up along the roofline or trunk. Is it bad design to collapse flatter surfaces down a considerable number of polygons?

I.E If I were to take your Datsun and chop the roof down to just a single ngon, or a smaller number of polys including a few triangles. Would that be a poor choice?
