hello,

i'm interested in digimation stitch. so before i go and buy this plugin i'm interested in its capabilities.
as is saw on digimation.com completly closed cloth like shirts is absolutly no problem. but what i'm interested in is, can it handle cloth like this: suggest i have a blouse (with a button row in the front) and button up only one button, maybe in the middle. can stitch handel this, producing correct drapery and cloth movement?
is it at all possible to place rigid bodys on cloth and have them move correctly with it?
maybe anyone using stitch can make a testimage, to show me how the button thing is done by stitch.

thanks in adance

Ask digimation. They're helpful when it comes to purchase queries.

i haven't used it yet, but reading the feature list on the site it seems it should be able to do what you want:

"Cloth vertices can be constrained to other objects in the scene."

so i guess you can select some verts and constrain them to the button, draping the cloth like it should.

dunno if it can constrain rigid objects the other way around though. But there's also maxscript support, and i guess you could collapase the trajectory of a vertex and set that to your object?

i asked my reseller about digimations capabilities and so i got my answer indirectly from digimation ;) . why i asked also here is, that i always want information from more than one source. so finally stitch can do what i want...

@Cyberdigitus: if i cannot attach my button(s) to the cloth directly i'll try your solution. thanks for that

I am looking to get Stitch myself. I’m not sure that it can do all you want but for right now Stitch is the best cloth simulation program for Max. It doesn’t compare to Flex (for Maya) but it’s the best I’ve seen so far for Max.

hello

i've tried a little stitch, i think, your scene can be handeled by stitch: i think vertex of button should not be considered as cloth that's all(fixed: stitch can do it).

i think stitch is the best one for simulating clothes (it offer many cool features like type of cloth and some other parametrs)
but of course that's you who must deal with the app to obtain crazy results.

if you have to purchase cloth simulator there no other one !
