I'm a begginer to MAya and I've been hanging around here learning for a while and have some questions.

Someone else, in another post, mentioned ways to quickly change from Local to World (vice versa), the double click thing works fine (double clicking on the icons on the left), but if I hold down W and hold LM
I get the options (from North to SOuth) Translate XYZ,Translate Z, Translate Y, Translate X, but no options to change between Local and World as someone else suggested?? Maybe this is because I have Maya 4?

And another problem,
Can I scrub through the time line in the Graph Editor Window?

And Finally My Main Problem, always has been even in Max:

I've got a little animation problem that I always come across.
Check out the picture that helps desribe this.

1. Here is a box, if it is animated so that it rotates in one axis,
the z axis for example,it is easy enough to slow in or out because
there is just one curve generated in the Graph Editor to deal with.

2. If the box is animated into a position that is not just
in one rotational axis then you have to deal with three rotation
curves in the Graph Editor. I then don't now how to get a gradual
ease in or out on all these curves at once.

I end up adjusting the curvature of the curves independently to try and get them each to slow out and in to the degree I want. But this just creates a wobbly motion as each axis might slow down slightly faster than another.

How do you solve this?

Cheers.

they didnt update the W for local/world marking menu until 4.5.

in the Graph Editor use "k" for scrub...also works in viewport.

use "i" +MMB in graph editor for inserting a key.

You can move/scale multiple keys in the graph editor without any problems....to adjusting several tangents at once just select them and use MMB.

Its not related to what you want...but there is the Convert to Breakdown which will maintain proportions between keys....and you can independantly set the in and out tangents on multiple keys
