I've got some troubles for making a texture that can be perfectly mapped on a character in 3d studio max. I need to know how to place the uv to easily make a good texture that fit well.

3D Festival was nice enough to release 6 or so sets of super high quality 3d models for our use in educational project like the one you are speaking of. Have a look. There are links at the bottom of the page to the rest of the sets.

Enjoy.
