I started to model my cell phone as a little exercise, trying to do some easy 'industrial design' stuff...
I am using good old sub-D surfaces in 3DSmax and I am trying to avoid 'collapsing' the mesh before adding detail, which makes it interesting when dealing with cutouts, three way angles etc.
NURBS would probably produce a cleaner mesh, but hey, as I said: this is an exercise... :hmm: Maybe I shoud learn Rhino...
Modeling is not quite finished yet, and then I can tackle textures and materials. Hopefully I will also be able to create a little backround so the phone doesn't float in outher space. I also want to start playing around with different renderers (currently it is just max scanline), not sure what is available as demo versions.
