how to make two different 2dbump together?
for example,i want a ball have two bumps, but when I find it's very strange, the bumps instead of each other.
here is pic,how to connected?

you sir, have a easy one

use layerd texture.

thx,levitateme,
layered shade is useful to do that,
but is there other way to do that?

I follow step of "maya 3d charactor animation 2",
it says"connect bump2d2's out Normal on bump2d1's Nomal Camera can make two different 2dbump together",but i can't,
dou know why?

i watched advanced shader networks like last week, they mentioned somethign about this. i am going to give the wrong term here,

you cant connect 2 nodes into 1
because a bump for exp has a RGB value
you cant have 2 r's 2 G's... thats how i understood it. he said itsnot a problem though because there are ways around it. what your trying to do , the layered texture would be giving you the same results, in my opinon you would have more control also. that help or am i giving you one of them

"man whats this guy talking about" posts i love when people reply to mine like that...ciao!

i had two ways to do that.

I think what you are looking for is described here:
http://www.aliaswavefront.com/en/Community/Learn/how_tos/rendering/bump_displacement/index.html

but here are the basics....
MM Drag one bump2d to the other. Select "Other" to bring up the connection editor
At the top click, RightDisplay > Show Hidden
Now, connect the Out Normal (left) to the Normal Camera (right)
That should be it!
I think you can connect as many bumps maps (in a chain) as you want.

I wouldn't suggest using layered shader for this. They are slower to render and would be tough to manage if you wanted to edit attribtes of your shader.

doogie, thats true layered shaders are slower? i was checking out tidus' latest scrnshot, i would think that would be slower 2 shaders over a layered texture? any info would be hot , thanks.

hey tidus, btw i was looking at your image. what i would do is get rid of the bump nodes, and just have your grids left, connect them to a layered texture, you dont need the diffuse shaders there. then connect the layered texture into a bumps color of like a diffuse. but if that is what you wanted, than nm im just trying to think of how i would do that
i attached this image maybe this shows what i was trying to imply.

What I was saying was your current implimentation (using a layered shader node to combine 2 shaders) slows down your renders quite a bit

Here's a pic of the hypershade:

thx alot,Doogie.
your method is I wanna.
and thx Levitateme, let me know layered texture.
