Mastercopy of Bouguereau’s “Evening Mood”…with a twist. ;)

95% of this was done over the summer for one of Pixelbrush’s little events. Then school happened, and I’ve been so bogged down with work I was unable to go back and put the final touches on it until now.

The idea was to choose a classic work and recreate it with some kind of twist that gave it a new interpretation. See the original here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evening_Mood) if you're not familiar with it.

PS7.0 and Painter 8, Crits welcome. Thanks for looking!

Lauren, this is absolutely FENOMENAL. I don't really know what to say, as there is absolutely nothing I could even nitpick on! Wonderful in every last detail, the colours, the twisted mood, the little details... you leave me speechless.

You're so good it's getting pretty overwhelming, no exagarrations. It's amazing to see how much you evolve in terms of pretty much every aspect of painting. I realized I pretty much always say this when I comment on your paintings, but just when I think you made a progress, you astound again. The improvements are staggering, really. <3

Great painting! I love it! The "twist" was successful.

By the way, how did you managed to put two pics into one thread? I am talking about the additional zoomed-in fragment just below the main image. It is very helpful. It helps to understand your work better.
I wanted to upload the additional zoomed-in fragment for my work as well but I could not. It looked like there was only one button for uploading and you could upload only one image at a time. Please, enlighten me. :p

I love this painting of yours even more than the original. The body curves are just great!

phoenix: Thank you :)

MoonVisionStudio: It's the first mastercopy I've done, but I really did learn a lot. :) I want to do more in the future. Thanks!

Marta: Thank you so much, Marta. You're way too kind, but thank you. <3 I've been striving to outdo myself with each new project, and even though I'm happy with my progress I think I still have a long way to go. :)

oleg-serov: Hello, thanks very much! Adding a second image is easy. Just use the bbcode [img] tag in the text box when you submit to the gallery. It's the same code you would use to add an image into a normal forum post. Hope that makes sense!

NateOwens: Thanks! :)
