I participate for the first time a challenge CGtalk I'm happy.
I want to make the effort to speak English, it's good for me.
My idea: the god Atlas, a giant mechanical gear yard carrying a piece of decorative street immense: an earth stone and iron (symbolic of the traditional image that this made him)

a quick sketch to show my overall idea of the angle of view and hues.

I draw a new sketch on paper, coloring in photoshop.
I like the colors but I don't know if there are definitive.

The overall design and detailing of the robot is quite good. The positioning of the arms looks really akward and uncomfortable, even for a robot. With his arms like that it would be very hard to try and hold a big ball above his head without either falling over, dropping it or having it roll away.
Here's some reference images that might help you out.

Nice looking sketch. What will the enviounment be like?
It has been pointed out about the awkard arms, but perhaps put more of the balls weight on the of of his back?

I will change the position, arms will have a more natural posture.
The decor will be a site on a large square in the center of a city, but only a few houses are visible (facades). Some Steampunk crane, workers. The sky is blue to contrast with the warm colors of Atlas.
