hi there! i'm learning animation so here are my first walk cycles... i used low poly models. there are two characters, the robot and the little guy. i rigged each one and then i parented the guy to the robot and made IK for the hands so they follow the joysticks movements. it was for me incredibly difficult because i just hate rigging... it's too technical! i animated the walks on 16' and the run on 8' as i learned from the "Animator's survival kit" (Richards Williams). It's a really great book! please tell me what you think of it. i'm very inspired by Rayman animation and characters, i just love there simplicity! and yes, i forgot to say that it's all done in Lightwave. i wanted to use these cycles to learn Motion Mixer, but i just don't understand how to make good transitions. if someone has a good tut on MM, please tell me...
thanx! :) i hope you will like them!

tralala cycle (http://juliette.nfrance.com/~ju13364//ben/images/3d/finaux/lowpoly/ti_robo/tralala_cycle_divx5.avi)
i'm calling the last one tralala cycle because the little guy could be singing "tralalalalalalalala tralala and tralala" during the walk... :D

i forgot to say that the concepts are not mine. Giusep made the drawings! here is his gallery : http://www.3dvf.com/modules/galerie/artiste/761.html

Hehehe BnE those are cool animation cycles.
I like them and i think they are cool animated. Above all I like the guy on top, how he moves forward and backward, very funny.
Tralala one funniest one :)

Just one thing, animation wasnt running very smoothly in my player, (when file ends and go to beggining again), because the loop thing.
maybe because im rendering :) but i think you should put like 5 or 8 cycles in the file so we see it more smoothly.

cool ones. cya later

Argon18 : thanx! well, for the cycles, i tried to reduce download times, so i just rendered one cycle... it works fine on my player...(i use windows media player 6 and set it to repeat, i just hate the version 7...) i'm sorry it doesn't play well on your computer... i'm not gonna make other renders because i want to make a new animation with the robot. i'm really glad you like them! :)

b1m2x3 : thanx too! as i said to argon18, i'm gonna make a real animation(it will be very simple... something like a walk in the forest with the trees and the flowers...)

thanx people!

Very nice. As it was already pointed out... the characting bouncing around at the controls is the cherry on top.

thanx Avalon!

b1m2x3 : thanx for the tip, i knew i could set wmp7 to repeat, but i just hate the player itself... too much little gadgets that just suck up my CPU memory. :scream:

verbal007 : hehe, thanx ! i love in animation the concept of counteraction(it means when the body goes up, the head goes down for example), so i used it everywhere i could... on the hands, the head, the torso.... :D

Very cool. I think the guy in the top bounces around too much during the walk and tralalala anims though.
