I'm looking for an export plugin for IGES from C4D. Did a quick search on google and on maxon's site, but didn't see one. I would contact Maxon's fabled customer support, but they haven't sent me my permanent serial numbers yet (can I get support with my temporary serial number?), and cgtalk would probably be faster. Even on the weekend.

Anyway, does anyone know of an IGES export plugin? I have 8.1.

1) There is no iges export of any sort to the best of my knowledge

2) You can get support with your temp serial.

Surely your other app must be able to bring in something other than iges?

Yes, quick reply. Thanks.

It's a file that I'm sending to a physical protyping company. They Their website doesn't mention a file format for submissions. However it did mention that they do stuff with IGES so I thought that would be the ideal format. I think I'll just try DXF as that is the other file format that I associate with CAD and design. Is there a better one to guess?

You can get support with your temp serial

By the way, how long does it normally take to get the perm serial? I submitted mine about 8 weeks ago, but no response so far. I'm getting nervous--my three months will expire soon.

If its a rapid prototype (3d printer, stm, stl) they will want a mesh format. Cinema's STL export is what you will want.

STL, eh? Good to know, I'll use that. Thanks

if you've not got your permanent serial number back yet, then definitely phone up support about it (they're usually very friendly and will help out in no time).

Try an STL with them

STereo Lithography

STL was designs solely to make rapid prototypes.
