I thought the confrontation between Captain Ahab and Moby Dick would be pretty cool if done in the steampunk style. Does that even qualify as myth or legend? If not please let me know and I'll think of something else. If not, I'll start working on concept sketches as soon as I get home from my boring job. Looking forward to being in this competition and seeing everyone elses amazing ideas.
Crap! Just noticed that there are a few other Moby Dick entries. I'll come up with something else.

After mulling over an idea for the competition for about a day I've decided to do a variation on "Peter and the Wolf" and the "Baba Yaga" myth/folklore/fairytale.
Baba Yaga lives within the depths iof a foreboding forest on the outskirts of a bright, youthful city. In a fit of jealousy, she creates an army of steam-powered wolves to invade the small city and see to it that none of the fair, young women inhabiting it remain alive. Enter Peter the hero.
Will update the story and post artwork as I come up with more ideas and am satisfied enough to show my work in progress. Should be a challenge.
Best of luck to all.
