Hey all,

I have been put on a project where i need to re-create the momentous impact on earth of an asteroid-meteorid that is supposed to be the culprit for killing dinosaurs.

I am wondering how to create BIG DUSTY FIERY CLOUDY Smoke...

And how can i map images on Sprites???

I use Maya 5.0.

You should play around with the smoke effect and replace the given sprites with your own..

Hey Guys,

Thank you very much for helping me out on this one :)

I really hope to find some fast way of learning on how to do it....as i am being watched closely...

Thanks for suggestions and tips/hints/tricks on how i should start doing this in Maya...

I did take a look at those fluid effetcs....:surprised soooo many settings possible...

I don't know if i should use particles on multiple layers...(sprites for clouds...multipoints for fiery effect...or just Cloud particles..or...or..man i fear to get myself lost..)

The clip is in DivX 5.0.5.

Would you say your job depends on this? The funny thing is that somebody else is working on this exact effect as well..coicidence?

Hey Gmask...

Thank you for the link to the gnomon tutorial, but i don;t see in what that might be helpful regarding the creation of the Smoke effect... :shrug: make it clear to me...

And by the way...WHO is working on the SAME project??? :D is it me??? Tell me who so i can talk to this person...we could help each otehr out, please.
