hi
I would like to create a road. So I did my modeling with the sweep modifier.
It works realy good, the texture follow the bend. I use a texture that loops only on the top and the bottom to have border on sides (this a condition for my work).
But as you can see in the exemple I send, the texture is repeat in the middle. I try to adjust it in the material editor but it doesn't work.
I always have an unpredictable result.
(The images I posted are only for the exemple, don't pay attention on the quality.)

have somebody a solution, perhaps a plugin ?
Thanks

ok,
I found a solution. It was simply impossible to do this in 3Dsmax 8. In the the version of 3Dsmax 2009, there is an incredible new tool in the modifier unvrap. It allow us to map complex object as mapping a cylinder extrude along a spline, or a road as I wanted to do in my example.

After have selected the polygons I want to map correctetly, I applie the unvrap modifier, and in the mode face, I can select spline. Now I can adjust the gizmo for my model.

I haven't a lot of time to explain it, but I let you the link towards autodesk. You could find here a video specialy dedicate for this technique of mapping.
