Title: Happy Squirrel
Name: Robert Braddy
Country: Australia
Software: 3ds max, After Effects, VRay

The "Happy Squirrel" is a project i did probably around the end of 2007. I created him for the purpose of testing 3ds Max Hair and fur. A year later my knowledge of hair and fur has grown so I updated him a little, and thought id share a render.

The character has about 1.5 Million hairs, and uses the Buffer render.
I am considering if time permits in the near future to put together some training DVD's on Hair and Fur.

Enjoy

Robert

Hai

It looks ok but it would be way better if u could add another pass od shadows+ao+speculer so the image is more interesting, also working on face shaders and hands would be good idea coz you can get quite good effect from it :)

He looks kinda "old", like a white beard.

You did a great job with the fur and hair. If you do get around to making some DVD or video tutorials, I'd be interested to check them out. One thing to look into, like the first person said, was that it could really use more shadow information. It'll make all the detailing done really pop out much more.

very nice fur man! i would love some 3dsmax h&F tutorials! but i will agree that with some better shadows and specular it would be better

This is the 4th time I have looked at this image so it must be pretty darn good.

Love the fur. I am currently having trouble with fur, trying to get it to render sharper.

This is a beautiful little character.
