View Full Version : Painting Textures For a Face

Well, ive made a face model for my game. And ive started to texture it, but the problems im mainly having is when drawing more technical stuff like say mechanical components comming out of the face or a mask or something how should I go about doing that. Like when I draw a mask outline freehand its not accurate, if I use the pen tool it does the job. But my work is suffering from alot of lack in detail on the textures. If you guys have any tips or tricks or could just explain what the professional workflow for character textures it would really help me out. Oh and how do you add skin detail like pours, I used photoshops noise filter and a brush with little dots and drew a bunch but its just not at the quality I was hoping it would be.
Thanks.

Ill be sure to post it up here when im done.
One last thing to mention, my game engine doesent support normal/bump maps yet, only diffuse. So I wanna try to cram as much detail into those diffuse textures as possible. Ill be adding normal mapping in the future but for now its only diffuse. And yes I have my own game engine, I don't expect it to go anywhere but hey it keeps me busy.
