Hello All

Been lurking for ages and finally had something to share. Mostly due to this forum, Ive manage to model and create my first head.

http://www.digitalfarmers.com/sean/index.jpg

I've tried a few tutorials and given up after everything went to the proverbial dogs. Wesware's one got the job done. The eye's are also "borrowed" from the resourses thread.

Thanks guy's for all the guidance and inspiration!

Now onward to original creations.

Thank you. The tute I used was:

Now if only he'd make one for boning the head, for blinking and facial expressions...:bounce:

Gotta get some hair on that bugger too. Shave and Haircut 2.0 will have to go on my shopping list.

nice dude thats pretty good. It looks like he has been smacked in the head really hard though. Those pupils are bigger than saucers.

Nice pic dude.

Sweet!

You worked that one out pretty fast.
I would focus a little more attention on the brows, cheeks, and lips. Seems like you have some slightly harsh angles in there.

Would like to see a wireframe!
Glad the tut helped... rock on.

Thanks Wes I must say that I deviated from your wire after I got far enough along (maybe that was the problem, hehe).

Don't really know how to get a decent wireframe. Used an atom array here.

As you can see I got a couple of extra eyeloops trying to get som decent folds.

Hey Zion..

Looking good.
Now you said you have some extra eye loops, I can understand your desire to do that. My model and tutorial are fairly low-poly count. The reason being... I can't seem to handle manipulating alot of points later on when I animate. The reason I did the tutorial was to work out for myself a way to add detail as I went along rather than subdividing a box three times then moving all the points into the shape of a head... I fought the points the whole way. Anyway, back to the eyeloops. Seems to me that we both have the same amount of loops close in to the eye. You have added a few more loops around the outer edge. The problem (bumps and angles) that I am seeing with the cheeks seems to fall right on the vertices of some of those extra loops that blend out onto the cheeks. Try using the "iron" plug on those spots. Adding detail and loops in Cinema can be tricky because of the nature of hypernurbs and the way cinema models. Two edges close together are going to create a potentially harder or crisper edge the closer together they are unless they are treated with real care. Make sure some of those places where this occurs are smoothed out. It can be distracting from an otherwise awesome model. I would also consider loosening up the lip edge a little bit.
BTW- just do a cell render for a wireframe image.

Keep up the great work.

If you add a Cel render as an effect in the rendersettings you get a wireframe. check the box for edges if i dont remember wrong. =P

Very nice head btw!

Under your render settings, select "effects" then add "cell renderer"... check outline and edges, and be sure to turn off hypernurbs. Manual p556.
