Ok… after while thinking and search for stories(myth and legend), came across many of stories are very interesting, but it is hard to pick one… so I have narrow it down to two of them , both are eastern myth or legend.

First one is well know “Sun Wukong”, known in the West as the Monkey King, is the main character in the classical Chinese epic novel Journey to the West , I am picking a small part of the story to tell.

Second one is called “Nian”-
“An ancient Chinese legend tells of an extremely fierce, man-eating predatory beast. Nian dwelled deep in the sea the whole year long, but on every Chinese New Year eve it would climb onto the shore to devour livestock and harm humans in a near-by village.

One Chinese New Year's Eve a man appeared in the village. He asked permission to stay for the night and assured everyone that he would chase away the beast. No one believed him.

When the beast arrived at the village to wreck havoc as usual, the man try to fight the beast but it was met with a sudden burst of exploding firecrackers. Startled by the noise, the flashes of light and red banners flying about, it hastily turned and fled…”

My inspiration from these old folklores, it would be a few characters and a village with the steampunk style. These are two stories I have in my mind, for now!

I am working on characters design in genaral, some sketchs to come.:D
