View Full Version : MOCCA Problem! HELP!
AmnesicElephant 06-15-2003, 08:06 PM Ok, so I'm setting up the legs of my character (see link in sig) and I follow the tutorial in the MOCCA manual for the Mime. I get all the way through, everything works fine. Then I Bone Mirror, fine. I put on Soft IK and play... Bam! the Right leg gets totally messed up. It looks as if the heel of the foot bone got attached to the pelvis bone or something... I'm very confused, I reverted, tried the left side and it's fine... bone mirrored again, checked all the IK tags and their exactly the same as the Left side and still the same thing happens. Here's screenshots:

Please, can someone help me?

Ok, I looked at it and noticed that what's happening is every bone in the right leg becomes attached to the pelvis. Don't know if this helps at all, but...

try this...
Select all the Soft IK tags of the mirrored hierarchy, then set the rest states for them.

nope, didn't work...
I'm just gonna mirror it without tags and redo the constraints...

Not only should you reset the rest states, but you should also try and fix the bones after they have been mirrored. The problem you might be experiencing is that the mirrored bones have the same fixed position and rotation as the original bones which could cause problems when deforming the geometry.
