basically i created a poly head. and some simple bones in the head. smooth bound them. and then went in to paint weights.

however it seems whenever i paint one of the joints' weights, it totally affects EVERY other joint in the heirarchy.

for example do the jaw, then i move on and do the eyelids. then i go back to the jaw and all of a sudden there are weights all over the place.

i have tried 'holding the weights' but when i do this and try an edit an unheld joint it just makes the vertices jump around and ruin the mesh.

im just hoping you can advise me on this because i simply can rig the head properly at the moment with all joints weights leaking into each other as i edit them.

thanks

hi; select ur main root bone edit>select hierarchy; then use this setting when u going to bind ur model to skeleton, and after that only use smooth paint weight option between the joint to make smooth transformation hey it take little influence of other bones but dont worry, u hav to do just go to component editor select the vetices and make the value Zero of the bone which is not related to that that vertices(part of body), remember naming is important to the every bone then u can find in component editor,,,,,,.......................

enjoy cheers
