what can I do to fix texture problem?! Basically I got a windshield and I've modeled it using pt. technique with the mirror tool and now when I try and put a texture on the windsheild, this is also mirror, ie 2 steering wheel? I've tried a few things to solved the problem, but frankly am stumped. Any advise:bounce:

your not being to clear dude. If you are applying a bitmap it makes sense that its mirrored. However I don't see a reason in heck why you would use a bitmap for a windsheild.

When I am texturing objects that are mirrored i usually paint only half anyway. Just the the modeling.

Also why don't you just hit make editable this shoud solve your problems.

sorry, but of course I made it editable, and the problem still resides even if connected. It is not really cool to have 2 steering wheels . I have tried making it editable and even connected them manually and still get this mirroring problem. I hope that this helps clear things up.

O.K. This can be fixed pretty easy. (If I am guessing right on a couple of things) You can keep your object in the symetry too. When you are applying your texture it is giving it the default uvw projection and this is why it is being mirrored. Change the projection to flat and uncheck tile. Then in the Objects menu go to texture and select fit to object. If the windshield is curved a lot and you are getting stretching on the sides there is another way we can get into if needed. HTH
