I need to animate a cable that is attatched to a ROV sub. The cable is attatched at one end to a ship above the water line ( not seen ) and the other to the ROV. Im using Max 5 . Ive used a cylinder and attached the bones and added 4 segments to the mesh. My problem is I need the cable to follow the sub, and I cant get the cable to stretch. I have seen this done in the Max 4 workshop book that covers how to make the interior of Area 51. It has a scene where there is a machine that lowers and rises. Attatched to the machine are cables, and they stretch as it moves. I copied this cable to my scene and it works wonders. But the cable has two cables instead of one. And for the life of me, I cant fiqure out how to copy the effect .Can anyone point me in the right direction. I have tried in vain to anaylize how the scene cable was made, but am at a loss. A step by step help wpold help me greatly. Thanks:rolleyes:
