The story I called “Steam Heads” is a remake of myth about Zmey Gorynych. In Slavic mythology, the word “zmey” are used to describe a dragon. Most of these words are masculine forms of the Slavic word for "snake", which is normally feminine. In Russia, a particular dragon-like creature Zmey Gorynych has three heads, is green, walks on two back paws, has small front paws, and spits fire. According to one bylina, Zmey Gorynych was killed by Dobrynya Nikitich.

Due to the challenge this story will rise one more time in my entry. I hope I’ll have enough skills to bring this huge steam monster to life. I chose 19th century St. Petersburg as a place for this battle because it's my favourite city and I think it will fit well steampunk style. Here is my first sketch of Steam Zmey Gorynych and soon I am going to detail him and make his mechanism more plausible.

Another great Russian story :)

Will be watching with interest!

Are you doing an individual video entry, or you have a team? It looks like a lot of work for one person...

Good luck!

Thank you guys for your replies I’ll try to heat your interest during this challenge! :) You are right musi I started an individual entry. I agree with you that here will be a lot of work so I am focusing on storyboard right now to estimate the amount of work before i start modeling.

Here is a storyboard. Unfortunately I will not have enough free time to show battle and I have to concentrate on detailed model of Zmey and some crash shots. Hopefully, it will help to make my story not so poor.

Hi
I like the idea of putting your legend in exactly the XIX. century very much. Do you have reference pictures about St. Petersburg from that time? You could achieve a very strange cloudy atmosphere with that city.
I will check back often to see what you have.
