View Full Version : Can i scale my faces, edges by there normals?
Levitateme 06-15-2003, 08:35 AM If i extrude a face for example, i get my scale, move tool on the face, i can move it in its normal direction. is there a way i can do this just stand alone? like if it could work on edges also , that would be amazing. exp, i just select a face, then i can move it by its normals, if i can do this im sure there is a scale for it as wel? im hoping there is a way to do this. tahnks for any help everyone.

hey Levitateme:
You can only move the vertices by thier normals...so if you want to move a face that way...just select it's connecting CV's
If i extrude a face for example, i get my scale, move tool on the face, i can move it in its normal direction.
I think this tool actually moves the faces by thier local axis', and if I'm wrong, someone correct me:beer:
to get the normals move tool just open the tool options box for the move tool...and it should be in there along with Local, Global, and Object...

Yah, on one of my selection marking menus, i have all my selection masks to convert selections. so what i have been doing is this
selectface>set selection to vertices.
then i just use the normal tool that works, but i still cant scale. im goign to see if i can find a script tool or soemthing? thanks if anyone has advice.
