I decided to build my Steampunk entry based on the famous sea legend; Kraken. I am still defining its concept stages.

Ah yes, I am working on that. I also looking forward to "boost" my story of Kraken, for presentation purposes...here is a brief, I am still working on it...

During mid WW2 the Nazis suddenly recalled thousands of Scientists, Mathematicians, Mechanics, from the front lines*. This was in order to create a powerful war weapon to oppose ally forces. This was an era which nuclear research activity of both sides (ALLY and AXIS) were intensive. As a result OPERATION KRAKEN was implemented by the Nazis. "Kraken" was derieved from the German term "Krake"; meaning Octupus, which the original designs were planned.

KRAKEN was to create a powerful nuclear powered Underwater machine which only needed a crew of ONE to operate. The target was to destroy ally ships and planes which brought in troops to Europe.

As the project reached its point of completion, the Nazis were forced to abandoned it as Allies entered Germany. The machine was launched to the sea along with a captain to man it, but was never heard after. Few years later Strange ship and plane disapperances started occuring in a reigon known as the BERMUDA TRIANGLE*. US Scientists predicted it as ALIEN ACTIVITY or A UNKNOWN FORCE OF NATURE. But only the remaining few Nazi scientists of OPERATION KRAKEN knew the TRUTH.

*Based on actual fact.

Hey, looking sweet. Good to see you concentrating on how things might actually work - I think it would be good to see a mock up of your final composition in 3d. That way you can really concentrate on the things you will see in the final image and not get too intent on showing some of the detial you have modelled at the detriment of the composition. Not really a crit, just a comment :D Great work so far, keep plugging away!

Hi MrPeace, cracking model! Nice texturing too.

My only crit would be the final composition - it's difficult to get a sense of scale. Is the kraken huge as suggested by the tiny ship casting shadows in front of it, or is it quite small as suggested by the size of the mines behind it? I'd guess the former as a kraken would be enormous, in which case the mines need to be much, much smaller?

Hope this helps.

Software: 3ds max,Photoshop

During mid WW2 the Nazi high command suddenly recalled thousands of Scientists, Mathematicians, Mechanics, from the front lines. Due to intensive Allied activity, the Fuhrer had issued an immediate call for the development of a lethal war weapon. Overnight, PhDs were liberated from watch duty, Masters of Science were called from the supply rooms, Mathematicians were hauled out of bakeries and experienced mechanics were no longer doing the laundry. All evacuated personnel were shipped to an unknown region in Antarctica. The high commanders called the place BASE 211, in the words of the German Soldiers; "New Berlin".

Base 211 was an immense city devoted on to one purpose only; the development of war weapons. Due to Allied force movement in Europe, the Reich Ministry of War initiated PROJECT KRAKEN; the development of a lethal underwater machine to destroy Allied ships and planes which brought in troops to Europe. "Kraken" was derived from the German term "Krake"; meaning Octopus, which the original designs were planned.

As the project reached to its testing stage, the Nazis were forced to abandon PROJECT KRAKEN as Allied forces entered Germany. The Machine was released to the outer sea along with a well experienced Submarine crew. After the Allied invasion. no rumours or Intel reports were made of such existence of an Nazi underwater Machine. Few years later strange ship and plane disappearances started occurring in a region known as the BERMUDA TRIANGLE. US Scientists predicted it as ALIEN ACTIVITY or AN UNKNOWN FORCE OF NATURE. But only the remaining few Nazi scientists of PROJECT KRAKEN knew the TRUTH.

Note - The above story is a fictional work which was composed on actual mysteries on WW2.

The events and individual persons described in the above story does not reflect any actual historical event or individual person; living or dead. And any such occurrence is purely coincidental.

Glad you make it mr.peace, hehe... that's nice. I think might add some bubbles for your kraken that I can feel that is under water. Just like submarine it has bubbles.

BTW, the deadline extends next week you might refine your work, but anyways that's your work. :D
