Hi,
I've got this weird blown out area on sasquatch.
I can't seem to get rid of it.
I'm not using any targeting on the lights. All of the lights are spot lights and all are casting shadows (there are only 4 lights in the scene). None of the lights are focused on this one spot and the hair isn't dissappearing under the suface (which would cause the patch to show up a different colour). The only map on the model is a colour map and this is the only area on the model where the problem is occuring, even though the model is symmetrical and the problem area isn't in one of the most heavily lit area's of the model.
I'm completely stumped.
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks for your time.
Sam

I'm not familiar with Sasquatch so I'm sorry to say I don't have a fix here. But I do have a question, have you tried rendering it without any specularity? Does the spot still show up?

Have you tried rendering a short 'rotating' animation? Make the model rotate and keep the lights in place. I'm curious what the spot does. Does it crawl across the mesh? If so, then the lights are causing it some how. If not, then the mesh itself is causing it. Either way, then you have an area of focus...
