I choose to represent Thésée lost in Minos Labyrinth, but he get the Ariadne's thread wich will helps him to go out this place.
He's on top of a structure overhanging a part of the labyrinth.

I wanted to do a complexe steampunk back back wich unwind the thread, with a view on the lanyrinth.

My previous concept was too static for me and I would like to put in some action but keep the overhanging place on the labyrinth.
I changed the point on view and now Thésée is going through a window - a steampunk stained-glass window in fact - and he's falling through steam vanished from the industrial chimney, and you can still see the labyrinth through them...

In this wip, you can see the background ( steam, chimney and labyrinth) I was speaking about on the previous note ( the note of my second concept ).

As usual, I start on a black and white rough until I have enough details to go ahead with colors.

At least, added colors to my black and white base and trying to polish some areas by added differents color scheme...
Now I'll fix colors and other elements by taking notice on the feedbacks I'll receive.

So, feel free to comments and tell me what you thing about it, thanks !

Software: Photoshop

Stroyline and background :

Theseus has entered Minos labyrinth to fight the Minotaure.

Since months the labyrinth is in expansion and has already consume a lot of villages, turning them into steam power plants.

Theseus heard that the only way to stop it is to kill the Minotaure.

Theseus has explored the first part of the dedal, a succession of labyrinth with huge buildings, chimney and machinery. He's equipped by the new Adriane steam back back V2.0, allowing him to find his way to turn back and exit the labyrinth.

The back pack automatically unwind the unbreakable golden thread, made from a new metal alloy, as Theseus go ahead into the labyrinth.

The labyrinth seamed to be desert but in fact there is millions of servicing bots, fixing and building structures. Most of them work hiding in buildings, between the walls, in the underground, fixing gears and pipes.

Theseus decided to enter in this tower, made of bricks, certainly containing one of the main power system because of the important numbers of gears set up inlay in the outside walls.

He was asking himself if the ancient gods are behind this labyrinth, " who cares about these forgotten gods" he told himself, when suddenly he heard noise behind him...a horde of little bots charged at him.

There is one way to escape, the stained-glass window in front of him, providing a soft colored light.

There isn't another solution, he's passing through the stained-glass window and fall in the gap.

Now he can check the unbreakable ability of the Adriane thread...

Will he survive ? will he find the mighty Minotaure and defeat him ?

This turned out nicely. I like the atmosphere and the bricks are very well painted. The character is also nicely done. His cloths and hair cut, mixed with your stile reminds me of the 80's, but I love the gear work that draws in the steampunk. Overall good job!
