Hello,
I was working on lighting in 3ds max. The backround(building) seems oja with lighting. BUT the main scene(patio umbrella) needs more light. My professor suggested some kind of light clamped on the umbrella support stand. Some others suggest to have a candle. Any suggestion please?

Well, it's hard to suggest anything without seeing the scene. It can be a midday, a night, raining... all suggest different choices.
...but off-hand, what comes to my mind, is you can set on fire the umbrella and the table. It gets much brighter when on fire.
