I am currently way behind due to a fried scanner. But now I am back on track (hopefully) Here is my B&W design for Black Beard.

I've begun the painting process. I am basing this painting on a period etching that was used in one of the penny books that told the story of Blackbeard.

I like to start VERY loose and work more on my color composition and then tighten up as I progress making corrections as I go. The only pencils I leave in are my main subject.
