View Full Version : Character Animation Film & Demo Reel
megaboy1 11-13-2008, 05:24 PM Hi everyone,
I was 2D animator, and wanted to learn 3D, and recently graduated from Sheridan College.
I would like to share my short film .
My focus is Characer Animation.
Please enjoy, and let me know if the video is too low-res or small.
You can also see my Demo Reel in "Animation" section in my website.
Thank you.

Very good work. I enjoyed it very much.
a couple of comments. In my opinion. Taking into account that this is an animation piece and I don't know if you are going to send it out to companies or not. I think the intro takes too long. I have to wait 40 seconds to see some animation. Maybe u can trim that down. Another thing that could be improve are the poses. I love the timing and the acting but a lot of the animation on the arms and hands was very symmetrical.
Hope that helps. Cheers! and best of luck!

Yes, I think the weakest part of your 3d work is your posing. Your background is in 2D, so if you aren't already doing this, try and think of your first poses as just drawings made by fancy computer wizardry. That would probably help a lot.

I do agree that the intro is too long, but this movie definitely made me laugh! ;)
The way you made the rock look heavy was genius.

Agree with the people that told you that you should work on your posing a little bit more.
I wanted to point out that in the shot when he rips his mask, I can see you've studied the moment when Mr Incredible breaks the windshield of his car when he first gets home after work... The timing is almost the same. Not that this is totally wrong but it's not the best aproach, try and act it yourself or look at actors in movies better.
Maybe I'm wrong but that's what I first saw when I looked at the shot.
