addicted2_3D 06-14-2003, 10:31 PM how the heck do I import a illustrator file as a spline in v8? There is mention of it in xpresso, but there certainly a different workflow than previous versions? I would love some help as to how I go about importing a illustrator file in v8 so I can extrude it?:bounce:

okay I got it to work, but what causes all this extra crap to be imported with the spline, like mulitple copies, misc. points, etc?

Basically everything that is a layer becomes a spline...I even think that guides get imported.
I always make a compound path and delete anythin extra.
it dose not work for me... :'( i saved it to Illustrator 8(i have 9) then i pressed ctrl+shift+o and selected my illustrator file but nothing hapened... :annoyed:

watch carefully where it appears, because it is often uncentered in the view.
I merge dozens of splines averyday here, must be a problem in AI. May be you left a transparency or an unknown attribute to your curve that C4D can't read.

Actually it turned out to be a missconception between inporting vector lines and bitmaps. He was trying to import bitmaps saved in an Illustrator file.
