So I painted this out for a project in my concept development class, the topic of which was steampunk style tools or props that are used to enhance vision (lamps, goggles, binocs, whatever). While I missed the part about vision, because I apparently can't read English, I think what I *did* come up with was pretty successful. I thought I would share.
:arteest:Hope you like!

I still wanna go back and touch up some of the elements so they read a little better, but I'm swamped with other stuff. ><

it doesn't have much of a steam punk feel to it. the two most obvious characteristics of brass and wood are missing.

and of course we need to see steam powering the device ;)

Agree with voltageme5. You should try to change the texture - the overall style looks great.

=D Thanks for the input. I agree with you both, sorta. The assignment called for essentially "looks like something someone would make in their shed with spare parts..." Which sounds more like some piece of junk Gordon Freeman would use than steampunk, but the assignment was *labeled* as steampunk. I may go back and play with the chassis texture and see how it looks as wood just for grins, and polish up the couple of brass pieces there so it actually READS like brass.
Either way, thanks a ton! =D
