Could you tell us a bit about your workflow.

I am very interested on the high pressure workflows of TV work.

BTW Plugged!

It would be nice to see a breakdown of the shots. Looks like a lot of 2D card systems with 3D mixed in. Looks very realistic. Matte Paintings are seamlessly mixed with the 3D and video assets. The only things that I see are a little off is the shot with the hundreds of horses. Lack of ground shadows or Ambient Occlusion, or it could be they are so small in the shot that you can not see the shadows. Other than that the reel is fantastic, just want to see some breakdowns.

Wow that was a great reel! Very nice, do/did you work on "Sanctuary" I noticed some of those shots looked like those from the show.

greet work, especially that cityscape shot ... so incredible ...

I second knowing more about the work flow and watching some wires, if you don't mind of course :)

Thanks, everyone! It's my pleasure that you like this reel.
There are some shots I do have break down in my previous reel.
Please visit my website at www.poshinwang.com (http://www.poshinwang.com)
or here is the link http://www.poshinwang.com/quicktime/PW_MattePainting2007.mov
For the other shots that don't have break down, the technique I use is camera project painting on very simple cube or plan.

Thanks again for supporting.

Poshin,
Your work on these effects shots was much valued and appreciated, but in fairness to other artists, I think you should put banners on them outlining your contributions. "Sanctuary" and "Tin Man" were both very much team efforts at Anthem and there were a lot of contributed artist elements and compositing involved. I noticed you have a link to Ken Lee on your site. His is a good example of how to show your work while still acknowledging your fellow artists.

Thank you for the feedback, Lee and Seb.
Yes, those works from "Sanctuary" and "Tin Man" are lots of very professional artists' contributions.

I put those banners on already.

Thanks Poshin,
If you just outline your contributions, the other artists can do the same when the shot is on their reel.

Hi Poshin,

It's great to see you progressing so well!

Awesome job over the past year on your contributions on Tin Man and Sanctuary. I know you guys had a lot to do in very little time. You're all troopers!

As far as the adding banners to your reel, I do like what Ken has done but it's still widely accepted in the industry to just include a printed breakdown along with your reel that clarifies your contributions when directly applying for gigs. ...NOT yet a common practice when sharing your reel on CGTalk.

The old church with the blowing grass is still my favorite. It was such a nice day when we filmed the foreground plate!

Excellent work Poshin, with your work ethic and talent success is inevitable!

Cheers,

M

Hey Mark,
Thank you so much for your wonderful encouragement.
I couldn't do all those without you and Gillian's help.
What I learned in Lost Boys Learning is the foundation of all those.

Cheers!
