I had originally planned a video entry. Time is running out, but this theme is just too good to let pass.
Instead... Here's the rough (plenty of placeholders) layout for my still image entry. A steam movie set. Murnau and Nosferatu. Lots 'o atmosphere and steamy grit to come.

Still lots 'o placeholders, but beginning to get a feel for the final composition.

More geometry work on the composition. Still need a background and a few more bits and pieces. I'll add the figures when I start painting over this rough.

Here's my final composition... which means it will only change about six more times. The geometry was done in Modo. Now I'm starting the painting process.

Detail of the first paint pass. I think i'm gonna keep it looking a little like an old sepia glass plate photo. Could change if I start to get interested in more color.
Thanks alicia for the kind words. Good luck with your entry as well.

This is my final piece. I'm working on a mac with no access to a PC to make the final upload to enter the contest. That's okay (I guess) I'm happy to have finished.
The image is of an early film set where F.W. Murneau is making a 'lost' classic: "Nosferatu in the Sunken Cemetery".
Luck to all those who finish the competition and have access to the proper hardware.
