Hi,
Here is a little preview of making of a music video:

I was wondering how he got the camera motion into after effects? Because there are no markers on the green screen in the footage. But in after effects you can see a nice 3d room with cemera moving exactly as in the footage.
Thanks.

Motion control camera, most likely.

I couldn't get the link to play, but I am not sure you are thinking in the right order. Most likely they shot the footage initially and the 3D environment came after. You can use motion capture software to track 3D motion that can then be exported to a format that is used by any 3D package. You then create your 3D environment to match the original footage.

There is such a thing as motion tracking cameras but I would be willing to bet it was done the other way around.

Voodoo is a free tracking software that will work with most 3D packages.

I personally use a very old free version of Icarus. You can still find it but I am not sure about compatability with some of the newer product releases of the higher end 3D packages.

There is also PFTrack but that costs about $6,000.

Good luck,

Wade

I understand that the environments has ben done after the footage was taken. The thing is, as i said, that it is filmed on green screen without any track points. In one of the shots there is a table, where you can get away with motion tracking software, but in the other shot there is a person who is moving, and only static thing is a litle bit of table lamp. I was thinking if that is enough to track this motion without any special camera.
By the way, the link works fine for me.
But thank's anyway for the answers!

Okay, I got the video to work. I was trying to watch it at work before.

I believe it was all done in AE without any real 3D elements added.

http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/graffiti_writing/

That is a link to one of many videocopilot tutorials on After Effects. It covers how to build a 3D environment that is very similar to what is shown in the video you linked. That part of the tutorial is not until almost 4 minutes into the tutorial but I promise it is what you are looking for.

You can fins out how most of the motion control effects were done in your reference video by checking out more of the tutorials available on Videocopilot.net

Good luck,

Wade
