The topic is too cool to be true !
I can't stay spectator of this challenge !
I hope to find time to work on it.
No idea yet but I think I will do something like a huge robot in a 1900's style or a city or a big monument in a 1900's style with many anachronisms...
Maybe I will find my ideas looking the Chetzar or Brom steampunk characters or some things my friend Lemog did many times !
Jules Verne books will be a huge source of inspiration too...

Hi Gilles, Best of luck man, i'll be watching your thread ;)

A myth has to be created ? mmmmm, let's think about it...

Ahah ! Maybe... A steampunk Pioupiou...

For the moment, the only idea I have is to transpose the story of Moses and the 10 Commandments... Just don't know if we can talk about Myth or legend here...

probably this picture but in a steampunk style, black leather, metal, machines...

Maybe you are right. Some think that it is a true story, some think that it is a legend and it became the symbol of many religions... Maybe it happened and if it did, what is true and what is not ? Maybe this is what we call a legend... Something which happened but the story is related with many events which are just imagination...

Don't want to hurt those who think everything is true in the story of Moses. But I think a part of it was Romanticized and Iconized...

Lemog

I really like the idea of Ulysses and the Cyclops, I can see that holding tons of potential. What's Gévaudan's beast about?

The beast of Gévaudan is an anthropophagous animal who attacks against the human ones which have occurred between on June 30, 1764 and on June 19, 1767. These attacks, of which between 88 and 124 were mortals in actual position of knowledge, were perpetrated in the north of old province of Gévaudan (corresponding overall to the department of Lozere, to a lesser extent, in the south of Auvergne and in the north of Vivarais).

Laurent answered well !
Some says it was a huge wolf, some says it was another beast and some says it was a man ( probably the one who told that he killed the beast when the murders stopped ) rapist and murderer...

I love the way it was handled in the movie "Brotherhood of the Wolf"... the beast was a mix of a beast brought back from india and metal parts...

No I think it will be more brutal, with probably the proportion aof a huge Hyena...
Maybe the beast will be locked in a mechanical cage with the shape of a huge dog robot... 1900 style, for sure...

I would like to approach the style of the Brom dog:

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_ilNCLHJeYFA/Rq-PKjU91dI/AAAAAAAAARo/02kjGROXhAA/s1600/brom_dog.jpg

or the machine Flesh dog of Greg Petchkovsky (gjpetch) :

hey Alexandra ! Nice to see you around darling ! ;)
For the moment no sketch, just a basic shape in ZB to try things... I am not so good in sketching with a traditionnal pen... Most of the time now I do 3d sketches with Zbrush...
But I think that tonight I will try to sketch a bit on paper because I have no computer at home...

as a wabbit ? :scream:

Hey buddy, I saw your PiouPiou of the ParisFX Catalogue...

he's always very good and especially very funny !

Really ? You dream, do you ?

suddenly I`am not happy anymore

Don't be so sad Antone. I prefer not to promise anything I won't be able to complete. For the moment my professional work takes me much time and my personnal "problems" too ! Don't want to talk about my life but I am in hard time mood...

Just to remind you when you participate previously in cg challenge with the PiouPiou...

...and your picture in the ParisFX 2008 catalogue... congrats Gilles :applause:
