this is some photoshop designs for my giant steampunk version of Fionn mac Cumhaill.

my idea is slightly changing from the building of the causeway to another legend that says fionn never died and sleeps in a cave waiting to arise again to fight and protect Ireland in a time of great need.
the concepts are very rough and i have a ton more on paper(no scanner but ill upload a montage when i can) and finding it hard to go for a gritty look or a slightly more toonish style. any feedback would be hugely appreciated!

I don't know either of the stories you mentioned ^^; lol

It sounds like gritty will be more suited to what your doing... I'm still deciding too but I think the main thing that will impact my decision is what I can get rendered quicker, which is probably cartoony hehe

Good luck!

thanks for the posts guys,
render time is going to be a huge issue for me(poor laptop will curse me!!) but im not going to let that push my decision on style. more wips coming soon.

ps the legends are old irish tails from the fenian cycle of irish mythology.
