I wonder if there is any plugin out there that automatically copies your textures and needed files for the scene to a specific folder, so you don't have to set up your paths and can be sure you don't have to search for any missing files?

There area lot of utilities to do this and similar things.

3dsmax hax a utility called Resource collector
Also Blur has some scripts
