Story & Animation - Christiaan Moleman

Website: http://www.ninjadodo.net/teddy/ (480x360 Quicktime)

Alternatively, DivX (http://www.ninjadodo.net/teddy/teddy.avi) (480x360) or YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U13zPdSzgZc).

This was my graduation film at Animation Mentor (http://www.animationmentor.com/), which I completed recently. The backgrounds were done in charcoal, but the characters were animated in Plastic Animation Paper 4 (http://www.plasticanimationpaper.com/), so I guess that counts as CG.

great film. It's hard to get that sort of a message in so short of a film, so bravo and congrats.

dear friend..

I loved it.. I thought everything was just well planned, well excuted..

I think if it had more finished look (like 3D rendering or even 2D finish).. it could even win Academy Award.. or some sort.. :)

anyway.. I dont usually reply to anything.. but this one.. I just had to..

Keep it up and cheers.. (come and see mine too ;) www.artofdae.com

Thanks for the comments! As far as messages, I tried to keep that aspect subtle as there's nothing more tiresome than being hit over the head with 'The Message" but I think I succeeded at not overstating it...

The pencil test look was largely an aesthetic choice. There's a charm to rough animation that I think often gets lost in clean up. I wanted to keep that.
