Character ive been wokring on, still in the process of just get the basic form and shape down before adding details, the texture is just temp, i'm going for kangaroo look that stands up more like a human so i guess its anthro style, I'm open to all suggestions and critiques

:edit: sorry for the bad quality of the pic ill get a larger pic up tommorow along with some updates

yea its coming along nicely. One thing is that the tail is way too stubby and squished. Usually they are long and curved the other way. Remember they stand up by thier tails (they dont box for you unknowing americans out there ;), they kick with thier legs). So the tail needs to look strong. Also those legs need way more muscle. Remember they hop all thier lives so are bound for strong legs. Jus look at some kangaroo pics on google, i know its a cartoon but it doesnt hurt. And front the front, it looks way thin. Bulk it up a bit!
Im liking the head, thats lookin good. Well i hope that helped a little, sorry if it didnt. Keep modelling! :bounce:

hey thanks for the comment they did help, still got along ways to go but getting closer, funny you mentioned the boxing cause i accually had him planned for the classic challenge to be in a boxing type game, guess i have to make it a kick boxing game now

Whats the texture on that last render? it looks like you got Chanlum channel shader.

I like the look of the last render but I think the arms and hands look waaaay to human and roo's have paws don't they?

Spearhead- Congratulations you get a gold star :bounce: , yes it is chanlum mixed with some other stuff

TheLegend299- like i said in the first post i was going for an anthro style which is part animal part human but i think i will be a dumb american and end up put boxing gloves on him anyways cause that would save me some time rigging too

well i chopped off his arms till i figure out what to do about them, and ive started working on the muscles, i would really appreciate some feedback about the muscles as this is the first time i have attempted something like this.

also can someone please tell me why the charchter now has this boxy look instead of a smooth mesh

i liked how the arms were. Hmm muscles, im not too good at muscles. I think they are good. The only suggestion that stands out right now is claws on the toes. The tail also looks alot better!

Maybe you can have him doing karate or tai kwan doe or something different, instead of boxing. Well i dont really have many suggestions, keep working on it

did you accidentally delete the phong tag? If so, add it back to the object and it will be back to smooth :|

make sure you have a Phong tag. Its default if you made it from a primitive but you could have accidentaly deleted it.

yea i liked them. They looked like they could scratch out your eyes ;). I guess i thought they suited the "tough kangaroo" character!

Boxing gloves on hands AND tail.
Could you post a wire - seems, as far as i can tell from the little wire pic, that you might run into some deformation problems the way the mesh is build.

Hip and shoulder areas might get you into trouble - always a good idea to let the polys flow as close to the real musclestructure as possible. Time will tell if it deforms ok.

hmmm well thats not good, since the characters legs and arms are not sposed to be like real kangaroo features guess will just have to wait and see:shrug:

roo is lookin coo... lol I'm a bit weird, but really it looks good, at first I thought you were making a winne the pooh char but this is a nice twist. I like where the textures are going even is they arent the final cut. One thin Im definatally looking forward to is how you handle the face, it could decided the whole character of the model. But nice job man :), very original...

hey thanx to be quite honest im a bit scared of the face ive done some practices faces with the head but never quite got the right look to him always end up with a bit too cartoony of a look then i want, some how a six pack and cartoon head just dont go together i

lol :) no I wouldnt imagine so... My best advice would be to give him plenty of wrinkles and definition on the face. And then arrange his features so he almost make looks human.

thought i'd post one of the heads that i liked the best to see if you think im going in the right direction with it

thanx for the comments, the eyes are based off squids with a small amount of tweaking so i should really give him credit there, i acc played with area around the eyes allot last night nothing drastic just wanted to get the right feel to them, i added a nose and am working on the mouth, ill post and update allite late, also can any one tell me why my images now appear as files you open instead of just loading on the page?
