SNoWs: Thank you :) If you look closely, you can find another train in the background.

kaparo: Thanks :)

nash88: Thanks, buddy :) Maybe I add a few more details, after the deadline has been extended.

madshooter: Thank you :)

Now that we have a new deadline, I have a dream of adding a foreground character. Maybe the inventor of this device, looking at the city he saved :)

beutifuljust one thing i would change
the snow pattern on the roofs all look the same. i would break it with plenty more iregularity
some roofs should have more especialy near the edges and some much less snow

I like the train you added and like very much snowy wave.
But couldn't find any promised people?? ;)
Anyway, very nice picture. Congrats on finishing!

Bravo! That came together beautifully. I'm really glad you managed to put in this last burst of effort to get it across the line. Not only does it looks wonderful but it looks convincing too. I mean, want to know what a steampunk Atlantis looks like with a frozen wave surrounding it? Well here's an image right here and this is what it would look like. I love that aspect of 3D art.

It's been great fun following your progress. Whether or not you also add the proud inventor, I think this image is a triumph

This is based on the myth about Atlantis. The ancient city that sunk into the ocean. The people here are so advanced, that they are able to prevent their fate. Using their technology they build a big freezing tower in the hope of saving the city. And just before a giant wave is about to roll over the city, they activate the tower, and the wave is suddenly frozen and stopped.

with so many entries to go through, I hadn't paid as much attention to this one as I should have. But just now I looked at the hi res image and I'm absolutlely amazed. So many details, such a great mood, and the wave, which did not show all of its quality in the small image... well it's totally convincing!

fantastic work! I wish you the best of luck :)

Just found some time to add a couple of airships. This is THE FINAL final :)

Gnomeish and RupertD: Thanks guys :)

It's a pity you can't see the high res version anymore. My entry fails on such a low resolution. Thanks to all for comments and feedback

Hi Martin, sorry for responding so late ;-)

I like the idea of the frozen wave very much.
The colors of your image are cool.
For me nothing to change like to see it in a bigger version... but i guess i have to wait for the book ;-)

WOW!! MartinNielsen, your work is amazing!! Loved every piece of it! The wave is just too awesome!! Great attention to detail bits and wonderful execution! Your only fault - as far as I can see - is not giving a 1680x1050 pix for my desktop screen :p! Just kidding! Best of luck man!

Hey, the Final Final is even better than the Final (and that's my Final word on this matter). I like those airships a lot - they add some nice interest and value to the image.

I'm not surprised to see a whole bunch of people here who are impressed with this entry. Good luck with it

mdavid: Thanks old friend :) I'm a bit disappointed, that I couldn't find the strength to add a foreground character. But that's all over now, and I'm still happy about this result. I need to move on. And I'm really glad, that so many people came by here to comment my work :) Thanks everybody!
