This image render in MAYA without any 2D fix.
Do you think this one look like?

As a "pen effect" I think it's 75% of the way there... Since the lines themselves don't vary in weight as they cross a surface it seems mechanical in nature...
Also, it really makes the surface really shiny where the light hits the most.
Still, this is really cool!:D How'd you piece it together?

It is maybe a bit too 'perfect' for traditional ink drawings (too detailed), but it certainly looks like something Escher (http://web.mit.edu/iye/www/Images/escher-dragon.gif) might have drawn.
How did you achieve that effect ? Could you use it on a whole animated scene ? Show us more ! :bounce:

hmmm...i think the lines are a bit thick....and maybe add some noise? other than that, good job.
