“Rhythm & Hues and The Making of ‘X-Men2’ and Other Effects”

June 13, 2003 – (LOS ANGELES) – Two speakers from Rhythm & Hues, the Academy Award® winning studio known for its high-end character animation and visual effects capabilities, will host an informative event tailored for both experienced and aspiring professionals at a morning event, presented by Siggraph San Francisco, on Saturday, June 21 at the Ex’Pression Center in Emeryville.

Topics include:

· How do you make it look so real? - Techniques for suspending audience disbelief and seamlessly blending CG Character animation and Visual Effects with Live Action as seen in “X-Men 2” and “Daredevil.”

Also:
· Making CG Stars – a closer look into the creation of virtual leading players from Coca-Cola’s Polar Bears to “Babe” to “Cats & Dogs” and “Scooby-Doo.”
· What software packages do you use? – An overview of the proprietary and
off-the-shelf applications in use at the studio.
· and more

The two presenters - Jude Adamson, a senior lighting technical director, and Anjelica Casillas, Character Development/Producer, R&D - will explore the pipeline and procedures used by the artists at Rhythm & Hues Studios to produce a wide range of recent Hollywood films including "Scooby-Doo," "The Sum of All Fears" "Men in Black 2," "Daredevil" and "X-Men 2."

In addition, a recruiter from Rhythm & Hues will be present to accept resumes and demo reels, as well as answer questions.
