Why are you surprised Midway has made a loss? Also, is this CG news?

Yes

Its astounding that Midway is still around. I think they've been losing money for the past 7 years or so.

yes, but:

Chicago-based developer Midway announced its third quarter earnings today, pulling in $51.4 million in revenue.

And since they're soon relying on yet another Mortal Kombat title to bring in cash, it will continue to look gloom. I'm sad to say that they've been bleeding a long time, and it can't last much longer.

Midway hasnt done a good game since MK 2. I am amazed they stayed alive for this long already.

I believe a year ago this month they released Unreal Tournament 3 for the PC and PS3 and things were already rocky by then. Neither did nothing to shore up their efforts especialy the PC version. I don't expect MK vs.DC is going to pull their bacon out of the fire. Fatalities have already been censored to meet the ratings board (or DCs) requirements. Just one more bad decision for Midway.

I loved the original Joker fatality before it was censored

That is uncensored for Europe now.

i owned every game up until the 3d deadly alliance which was a sweet game but pretty much as far as the mk gaming concept could be pushed i think.

Good luck to them though ... but i hope they stop trying to re-invent the wheel and come up with something innovative.
